The Rainforest Alliance Certified Seal ensures that the products used originate from properties certified by the Sustainable Agriculture Network. These properties are managed according to strict environmental and social requirements, management and animal welfare. The involved properties also continuously seek the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions during livestock productions. To obtain this seal, the company must meet stringent requirements that take into account not only the final product, but the whole production process, such as conditions of the workers involved, the relationship with the surrounding communities, as well as enhancements applied to production and environmental improvements In Brazil, the Institute of Agricultural and Forest Management and Certification – Imaflora, a non-profit organization and a member of the Sustainable Agriculture Network, is responsible for the audits of the RAS, Rainforest Alliance Certified Seal.


Gran Beef participates in the methane free livestock project, which seeks to neutralize the methane emitted by animals through integration of livestock with commercial forests of eucalyptus and African mahogany. The farm owns 40% of its land in preserved native forests and continuously participates in projects for maintenance and improvement of wildlife in the surrounding area.
